The season of Lent brings to mind the traditional practices involving prayer, fasting and almsgiving with food, or the absence of it, often being the focus.  This year let us center our attention on our need for spiritual food and hunger for the Divine, which leads us into deeper relationship with others and all of creation in a caring way.   Let us focus on practicesfor feeding the soul, shifting our awareness from the negativity that surrounds us to faith, compassion, and joyful service.  Join us in finding nourishment for your soul during this Lenten journey.
Fee is $25 per session or $125 if you register for the full series.  Call 815.464.3880 to sign up for full series or register online for individual sessions.

First Monday:
Date:  Monday, March 6                        Time:  9:30-Noon                     Fee: $25
Fasting is an integral part of Lent helping us turn our attention to both God and others. Traditionally its focus on food is to allow our physical hunger to remind us of our spiritual hunger, our need for the Divine and solidarity with others. This Lent, let us expand this concept to address whatever keeps us from deepening our relationships (e.g. too much time on Facebook?  holding on to a grudge?  focusing on the negative?).  Let us also be about feasting–feeding on everything that draws us to the real and lasting joy found in sharing ourselves in love for family, friends, and also for our neighbors in need.   As Lent begins we’ll explore creative ways to be about both  FASTING and FEASTING so that we might truly rejoice in the Paschal feast of Easter.
