This 3-part retreat takes us on a Lenten journey, through the desert, on a path that leads to our personal resurrection. Last year our days and weeks were filled with isolation, fear, and loss. We embark on this new journey to find understanding through myth, stories, and narrative. Almost all human experience is given its shape and its meaning in the act of assembling memories and expressing them in a “narrative” or a story. These stories are an attempt to explain that which defies explanation, such as an epidemic affecting people on a worldwide scale. We will find new stories of faith that ultimately encourage us to breathe together and embrace the new normal. Through input, discussion, and creative exercises, this retreat equips us to emerge from the desert of our pandemic confinement and leads us to the fulfilled promises of Easter Joy. February 22: The Desert Experience – Facing Fear, Denial, Anger and Grief; March 8: Embracing Stories of Faith, Hope and Redemption; March 29: Inhaling Resurrected Life and Exhaling the Breath of the Beloved. Fee: $60
Facilitator: Michael Jennrich, OFM has served in a variety of ministries throughout the United States, including street ministry, retreat work, parish work, campus ministry, and hospice.
