University of St. Francis Bishop Imesch Free Lecture Series presents ‘Dorothy Day:  Model of Mercy’ with Robert Ellsberg who worked with Dorothy Day for five years.  Dorothy Day, founder of Catholic Worker, has recently been proposed for canonization.  Through most of her life, her social witness and commitment to gospel nonviolence put her outside the mainstream, yet Pope Francis recently named her among the “four great Americans”.  Robert Ellsberg will discuss her life and spirituality, and why her message of radical mercy makes her an ideal saint for our time.

The event is at the University of St. Francis, San Damiano Hall, 500 Wilcox Street, Joliet, IL  60435
