The core of discipleship and the “beating heart of the Gospel” is MERCY. Jesus of Nazareth, by his words, his actions, and his entire person reveals the mercy of God. We in turn, are made in the image and likeness of God – “a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness” (Ex 34:6). We are then to become the living and visible face of God’s mercy. Using Scripture, video clips of The Chosen, personal reflection and sharing, we will ponder how Jesus models mercy for us and consider ways to deepen the attribute of mercy in our own relationships.
