Ignatian Contemplation is prayer with Scripture. It is meeting God through story. The prayer develops as you “live into” a Scripture story with all your senses and imagination. You let the Spirit guide the prayer – you don’t force anything to happen – you let it happen to you, within you, around you. Ignatius was convinced that God can speak to us as surely through our imagination as through our thoughts and memories. This morning’s presentation will include background material and opportunities for the practice of imaginative prayer as well as discussion. Fee: $25
Facilitator: Michael Jennings holds a doctorate in clinical psychology and is the conserve for the Chicago area lay Ignatian community. He has studied and written about Ignatian spirituality for over a decade and is an Ignatius special director.
