“I will give you treasures out of the darkness…”(Isaiah 45:3)

“…new life starts in the dark.  Whether it is a seed in the ground, a baby in the womb, or Jesus in the tomb, it starts in the dark…”  (Barbara Brown Taylor)

This Lent we invite you to move into the dark and to see it as a fertile place where we can learn things we could never learn in the light.  With a perception that goes beyond visual sight, we hope you will come to know and name “the gifts of the dark” and let yourself come to greater trust in a God who has a way of finding us—even in those darkest moments!

Seeing in the Dark:  “Graced and Guided by Sparks of the Divine”

Drawing upon insights from Barbara Brown Taylor’s book, Learning to Walk in the Dark, and the long Biblical History we have of God working with people in the mystery of darkness, together we will explore how the darker moments of life can carry treasures of their own if we can let go of fear and cultivate the eyes to see.
